The Discovering Jesus Course is a special OBC module comprised of 365 lessons, sent out by daily email.

Focus

The focus of the Discovering Jesus course is exactly as its name implies. It is all about discovering who Jesus is and what He means for your life today.

Here is just a sample of the kind of questions that will be answered in the Discovering Jesus Course:

Who is Jesus and why is so important to you?
What were the circumstances of Jesus' birth and life?
What was it like for Jesus to grow up in Nazareth?
What was the culture of first-century Israel like?
Who were the people of first-century Israel?
What did Jesus teach?
What miracles did Jesus perform?
Why was Jesus so popular at first, but then faced growing opposition?
In what way did Jesus claim to be God?
Why was Jesus betrayed and sentenced to death?
How was crucifixion carried out?
What happened on the morning of the Resurrection?

By the time you have finished the Discovering Jesus Course, you will have a comprehensive understanding of the life and ministry of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Study Program

After you enroll in the Discovering Jesus Course, a lesson will be sent out to you each day for 365 days. Each lesson is has two pages -- easy to read and digest.

You can complete your lessons at your own pace, although we encourage you to set aside 20-30 minutes each day to study your lesson and take your test.

Testing

At the end of each lesson, you have a short test of 5 multiple-choice questions. This test is automatically graded when you hit the "submit" button, providing you with immediate feedback on how you are absorbing the content of the lesson.

Credits Earned

No credits are automatically assigned to a student studying the Discovering Jesus Course. However, the Discovering Jesus Course has a value of 8 credits, if the following requirements are also completed:

A module examination -- this will involve a 50 question test, conducted online, upon completion of the Discovering Jesus Course.
An essay assignment -- this will be set for you at the end of the Discovering Jesus Course.

Please note: An extra charge of US$20 is levied if you want credits assigned for the Discovering Jesus Course (DJC). This levy covers costs incurred for the grading of the DJC test and assignment, and for the issuing of the grade transcript.

Most students studying the Discovering Jesus Course do not need credits. If you would like to earn credits for this course, please inform the Registrar when you enroll.
